In Missouri there is a unique partnership between local citizens, business leaders and government that was born out of the concern to help improve the lives of Missouri’s children and families, it’s called FACT- Family and Community Trust.
FACT is a non-profit corporation that assists 20 well-respected community partnerships across the state. Each partnership works within their community to identify and develop solutions to overcome challenges such as…. homelessness, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, child abuse, after school care, dental care and many others.
The Family and Community Trust (FACT) enters its third year as the KIDS COUNT grantee in Missouri. KIDS COUNT is a national and state-by-state effort to track the well-being of children, through high quality data and trend analysis. We are grateful to the Annie E. Casey Foundation for their generous support of this effort in Missouri.
We just released the 2016 version of the Missouri KIDS COUNT databook. Find it here: mokidscount.org
A great turnout for Child Advocacy Day 2016 at the Capitol. Missouri’s Community Partnerships were a very visible in their Missouri KIDS COUNT shirts. There were over a hundred members represented this year. They took part in workshops, had exhibits and used the time in the Statehouse to connect with their legislators in support of child well-being.
The Board of Directors of FACT will meet on the following dates in 2016: Spring Meeting: March 10th & 11th, Summer Meeting: June 2nd and 3rd (Annual Meeting), Fall Meeting: September 8th & 9th and Winter Meeting: December 1st & 2nd. Board meetings are held in Columbia, Missouri.
